Solaris OEI!
Hey everyone!! To the new J1s and Ip1s..Welcome abroad the Solaris family! The Solaris House Activity Team (HAT) promises you a fun-filled and exciting year to come!!
First up, we are launching our very own Solaris merchandise this year! Up for grabs are the unofficial Solaris “Not a Tame Lion” shirts and our very own Solaris plastic files! Secondly, we will be having our biggest yet Sentosa house outing on the 13th January! We hope to have a turn up of 100 people!!
Sadly, there is no slot for senior-junior interaction this year, so we highly encourage J2s, IP2sand IP4s to crash our dance part cum camp fire on Friday 12th January 1730 to join in the fun and get to know your junior classes!
For this year, apart from the NE cup consisting of CNY, racial harmony, national day, International Friendship Day etc, you can also look forward to a new Challenge Shield, which comprises of cca-initiated events:
1) SnT competition (19 Jan)
2) Debate (term 2)
3) Soccer (term 3)
4) NJC Road Run
5) NJC Sports Meet
6) Games Festival (Term 4)
Anyone who is interested in the upcoming SNT competition please contact me asap!
HAT would also like to take this opportunity to encourage those who are interested in house activities to run for House Affliate position when your class committee elections come! House affliates are the 2nd CT rep whom liase directly with the HAT to help garner support for all house activites.
Lastly, just a reminder that there is a feedback box beside our house board for you to let us know your concerns etc. You can also tag us at our house blog not-a-tame-lion-.blogspot.com.
HAT is here to take care of your welfare! =)
Not a Tame Lion,
Sasha

Dear Solarians,
the OGLs for next year's orientation is finally out! As you all know, next year's theme for orientation would be adventure, under the name Odyssey: Navigate the NJC Adventure. We the Solaris HAT has picked the best of the best from our house to represent ourselves as OGLs. These are the twenty seven people who made it:
Sasha, Joanne, Christin, Stanley, Marianne, Vincent, Yisong, Jia Hao, Jeanne, Jeremy, Jason Ho, Jason Peh, Aline, May Yue, Wen Shu, Florentina, Keith, Zhirong, Cheryl, Elaine, Dexian, Choo Ting, Jamie, Yihong, Yu Wei, Michelle, Joli
next year our name would be Shackleton and since it is under the theme of adventure, we will be taking Antartica as our continent.
Last night, 20 of our OGLs went for our very first OGL gathering at the Indonesia Riverside Restaurant at Clarke Quay, well I would say that it rocked as we played ate great food and played icebreakers to get to know each other. Sasha then introduced the theme etc. to the OGLs as we get ready to kickstart a brand new rocking year of 2007 to the new IP and Mainstream students next year!
Take care all. =)

AND GUESS WAD?
WE GOT 3RD FOR GAMES FESTIVAL!
nevermind if we didnt get first place, the important thing was that most of you Solarians helped us by participating in the games and gave your all! =D

WE CAME, WE CHEERED, WE CONQUERED.
SOLARIS HAS WON THE WAR; WE HAVE WON THE WAR.
It does not matter whether we won the NE Challenge Trophy or not; we did our best, collecting all 10% for Racial Harmony Day and NE Cultural Mapping, as well as the most prestigious full 30% for the National Day Cheering Competition.
Don't be disappointed my dear Solarians, as far as we know, we got 1st runner-up and we lost out to the winners of the NE Cup by a small, tiny margin and we should really be proud of ourselves!
SOLARIS, SOLARIS PA BUI DOH!
Of course, most importantly, we've got to thank these people:
SASHA : Our dearest House Captain, the architect, the planner, the leader, the lion who has the loudest roar! RAWWR.
JOANNE : VICE CAPTAIN; the artist in HAT, amazing designs etc.
and all Solaris Councillors, House Affliates and main ingredient, YOU!
without the help of every Solarian, these achievements would not have been possible.
With the NE Challenge reaching its end, we should forget the past(except for the great victories we had) and look towards the future!
REMEMBER : Solaris is proud to have you, so be proud to be a Solarian.
